A Kolo Riva photo album project from HC:
I live in the North and this time of year, when coats and scarves come out of storage, I start itching to get to work on my Christmas gifts...
...I took these pictures last year when our family spent a sunny, chilly February afternoon roaming the beach and nearby marshes. (Yes, there actually was a guy surfing in winter in the icy cold Atlantic!) I decided to make an identical photo album as a Christmas gift for each person who was there that day, and thanks to this cool new Kolo Riva photo album, I got five albums made, no problem, in about two hours.
All these pictures are 4x6 prints -- some are vertical and some are horizontal. I didn't do anything particularly creative to make these photo albums, but I love the results -- the album pages flatter the photos. I just slid each print inside a slot at the top of each page and the photo was instantly cropped and framed like magic. The forced square crop to the center of each photo seemed to improve the composition every time -- I had wondered if it really would, and it did!
Being able to write on the borders is a great option, but I couldn't bring myself to do that on this project -- I just liked the plain snowy white look for this subject matter. But I'm going to make a few more albums with black-page Riva, and will caption those...
