First the treat: This delightful mini project that our friend Patrick Ng made using a Kolo Cortina Mini photo album in mango (2.75" x 3"). For the small almost-square pages, he cut up some 4"x6" candid prints of his boy, creating some interesting crops: I found that the great thing about this mini album is that you actually don't need to show everything in a picture. Just show your son's little finger, his mouth full of ice cream, his feet on your laptop... that's enough to tell stories... And here's Patrick's cool trick: ...the front window, however, is more difficult to tackle. I used the index print and cut the images into small pieces to compose, and the effect is amazing. Leave it to Patrick to actually do something with those tiny thumbnails on the printed index card (that comes with developed prints). So innovative! I really like this montage idea for the cover window -- not just for this tiny window, but larger sizes too.
My son's first name composes of two Chinese characters, "book" and "bright". I wanted him to love books just like me but I wanted him to be a sunshine person as well, that's why I put his smiling charming photo along side with a pile of book I love on the front window.
I've seen his pic on your blog Scription --cutest little guy on the planet.
