Photographer Kelli Taylor sent more images of her "Family Facebook" album that she made as a Christmas gift for her grandmother using a Cortina Lux photo album, featured in a previous post on Koloist. Here again, her photographs abut one another in a slightly unusual layout that works nicely. You can see more photos of this project on Ugo's flickr page. - Ugo |

This album such a good idea, especially with all the close-ups of loved ones' faces. I have a relative losing her memory, too.
What kind of album is that in the photo on top? It looks like it could be accordion style?

Hi Lucille, I asked Kelli (KT) the same thing about that photo. It is a Kolo Cortina Lux scrapbook style album -- same album as the one shown in the photo beneath it. Her layout creates an optical illusion in the top photograph. The page on the right has two photographs of little girls...the photo on the right is a close-up so it appears that that photo is much closer than the photo of the little girl just to the left of it, which in turn, appears to recede. Also, because the photo of the girl on the left is positioned higher on the page, it creates blank space under the photo on the album page. Since the page is black, visually that blank space disappears into the table.
Pretty cool illusion. I couldn't see it myself until I had my 2nd cup of coffee.
