Anchor albums even more firmly to a time and place by including additional souvenirs from the experience your photos describe. If they don’t fit easily, consider buying a memory box to house both the album and the accompanying treasures.

Here are a few good tips regarding souvenirs from among the many suggestions offered:

Include…

…playing cards, game pieces, matchbooks.

…fabric swatches, bits of yarn or thread.

… address book and date book pages.

Be careful with…

…newspaper clippings. Newsprint is highly acidic and not made to last. Always cover clips with archival paper or plastic. Alternatively, you can scan them and print them out on archival paper.

…Any liquid, gel or alcohol. It’s best to avoid these altogether, since they are dangerous for photographs and will evaporate over time.
