Resolve to Organize Your Photos | |

Friday 2nd Jan 2009 |
Here's a new year's resolution that shouldn't be hard to keep -- get your photos organized and sorted. To do this, you can find some great suggestions in the new book Photo Album, The Essential Guide to Sorting, Sharing + Keeping Photos by Vanessa Holden and Susie Cushner. From among many great photo-organizing ideas the book offers, here's just a snippet: Chronology: For many people, the easiest way to tackle a large inventory of photos is to sort them into time periods. Putting photos into time lines can reveal hidden stories -- instead of documenting random occurrences, the pictures creative narratives with a beginning, middle and end. Shown here in this photo by Susie Cushner is an archival Kolo Havana Box being used to sort photographs. It could be a permanent home for prints, or a safe way station before they are transferred into photo albums. Kolo is selling this new book on their web site and it is available at many retail stores that sell Kolo, which are listed on Kolo’s store locator. Previous Koloist posts about this book can be seen here and here and here. |
