Christine -- Yes indeed you are right, the writer of the postcard wrote"handle" not "have." The finder of this postcard was apparently extrapolating and paraphrasing. You might also like to post your comment at the site www.thingsinbooks.com where the finder of the postcard is more likely to see your correction.

i like to look at this blog and others on my coffee break. i work in advertising so creative stimulation is good. this cracked me up. i collect post cards, but nothing this exotic. :) thanks!

my postcards are all over the place -- some tacked to the wall in my office, some displayed on a bulletin board at my apartment, some in shoe boxes, and yes even some tucked in books -- talk about a chaotic universe. i just pick up (usually old) postcards at yard sales, flea markets etc -- don't think i have anything precious or valuable. just stuff i like, funny or touching or beautiful or whatever. should get better organized, though.
