Patrick: Great-looking book, what you have done here, artistically speaking. The photo of the Hauptbahnhof arch ceiling in the square cut-out window really works, pretty cool representation of the trip...

i just received my Essex 'hybrid' book with some extra booklets...not sure exactly how i'll use it yet but it will be fun to experiment.

Love it!! Patrick, this one and the "Human Nature" album, also. Is the paint in the top photo sponged on? Looks cool, like it has been Somewhere interesting and back.

Really nice, what kind of pen did u use to write on the pola in the 3rd photo down? Did the ink stay on or did it rub off?

Jack, how u use it will actually mean a lot to their product development team, please share.

Sue, that's made with a "distress ink" pad from rangerink.com.

Better Half, I used UNI POSCA marker, which stays on the plastic sleeves instead of the photo itself.

Jack,
I'd love to see how you decide to use the Essex, and how you make it your own!

While I've not been traveling much lately (unless my work commute counts, which some may say it does), I have found a great use for the Essex as a place for work musings, product design ideas, calendars and note taking. I've used a Moleskine for work notes in the past, but find that it requires me to carry several different variations, calendar, sketch and the lined journals to really have all the tools I need.

I should have known just looking from the photos that it was Patrick's lol. He has a Midas's touch of a different kind. He can't let go of anything without make it beautiful first =D

I need to get myself over to ITOYA and get one! Or, I need to educate myself on what other stores in Japan carry KOLO! (I think I'll do that now)

Raamenchan: Sorry I didn't give you this link earlier - here are the stores in Japan that carry the Kolo brand:
