Altered archival Kolo Havana Box large, (2.75” x 12.5” x 9.75”) x 4, archival digital prints, Kolo photo corners, acrylic painted boards and etched metal tags. (Oval strokes on lids created with sandpaper.) This Dream Archives Portal #013, along with many other works by artist Lie Fhung, will be on display in her solo exhibition called The Corporeal Dream, Nov. 20 - Dec. 3, 2009 in Jakarta, Indonesia at SIGIarts Gallery. The entire exhibition is created almost entirely using archival Kolo Havana Boxes. For more about this exhibition, go here. About this particular series, called Dream Archives Portal #013, Memori Obscura, Fhung explains: If you look closely at the photos inside the boxes, you'll see some differences between the seemingly identical photos on each box. This work tries to illustrate how, in our dreams, we often confuse our memories; people and places are often juxtaposed and interchanged. Visit Lie Fhung's web sites here. - Ugo |

Can't wait to see more photos of the exhibition, is this the first art exhibition essentially turning KOLO product into an art piece, i.e. instead of using KOLO products to show the art pieces?
I love the "spot the difference" thing. It happens very often that you can't really tell who is that figure in your dream whom you interacted so lively, it can be person A or person B, you only know the feeling is true and strong during the interaction, but that person can just be anybody, tells you something about yourself.
