Not Only The "Best" Photos | |
|
Wednesday 30th Dec 2009 |
Throughout the holiday season, people like to break out their cameras and take more photos of family, friends and events then they know what to do with. How do you choose which photos to keep and what to do with them? Here is a tip from the Lazy Brunch chapter of “Photo Album; The Essential Guide to Sorting, Sharing and Keeping Photos” for creating a fun, easy album to house this year’s holiday photos: Similar shots are sequenced and overlaid to give the sense of conversations in progress. It’s not always necessary to edit out all but the “best” when you have several nearly identical photos. In this album layout, the three shots are playful variations on a single theme, flowing across the book’s gutter. The “Lazy Brunch” photo album was made in a Kolo Luxury Cortina, perfect for showing two prints per page. “Photo Album; The Essential Guide to Sorting, Sharing and Keeping Photos” by Susie Cushner and Vanessa Holden is available here. Check out another tip from the “Photo Album” book in a previous post. -Kate |

Photographer Kelli Taylor decided to try something new with one layout in her Kolo Luxury Cortina 60th anniversary photo album. This technique enhances the illusion of movement through the album. By adding a creative spin on the old worn photos, she made her grandparents’ story come to life. More layout and design tips can be found in Photo Album The Essential Guide to Sorting, Sharing and Keeping Photos by Susie Cushner and Vanessa Holden.
