Timeless | |
|
Thursday 18th Mar 2010 |
Timeless, a print by photographer April Rocha, was shot using the “Through the Viewfinder” technique, also known as “TtV.” This technique is used to leave a “framing” effect on a digital print. The photo is taken with a digital camera through the viewfinder of an older camera, usually a twin reflex lens. This method allows you to capture the feel of an analogue photo with the instant gratification of a digital shot. The photo is displayed in an ivory photo sleeve insert of a Kolo Essex Travel Book. Vinzenz Fengler’s City Personification
|
Tuesday 16th Mar 2010 |
Freelance photographer, diversity trainer, “Segeblatt” magazine editor and recently proclaimed songwriter Vinzenz Fengler has experienced many aspects of Berlin during the last eight years. He reflected on his time spent in the city in order to create this work in a black Kolo Cortina Lux for the Berlin exhibition: “Words and images which were inspired by the city have been combined with newly written text. In doing this, I am trying to personify the city and convey the effect it has had over me.” Vinzenz Fengler founded the Youth Galerie Institute in Berlin-Wedding and is a very active member of the creative community. The Berlin “Through My Lens” Exhibition is traveling to Frankfurt starting March 23rd. For more information, go here. -Kate |

Blueprints: Conversations In Album Design
|
Monday 8th Mar 2010 |
Liz Tamanaha, owner and blog editor of Paislee Press, recently started a discussion through her blog on album design called Blueprints: Conversations In Album Design. Liz suggests using Kolo Cortina and Kolo Catalina photo albums due to their design and simplicity. Paislee Press inspires the visitors to be creative while also “embracing the inner minimalist.” Simplicity can often bring out the most creative and elegant designs. Read a past post about using white space in an album to let your pictures breathe. Each post in the series will answer a question from a visitor (from album experts to beginners). Discussions will start with questions ranging from as simple as “where do I begin?” to thoughts on complex album design. Paislee Press also offers different templates to download to make creating an album even easier. Stay tuned for more. -Kate |
